Dorado

The Dorado fish, often known by various names such as mahi-mahi, dolphinfish, or dorade, is a vibrant and fast-swimming pelagic fish recognized for its dazzling colors and unique shape.

Physical Appearance:

• Coloration: When alive and swimming, the Dorado exhibits brilliant shades of golden, bright greens, and iridescent blues across its body. However, these colors fade rapidly upon the fish's death, turning it into a more muted yellow-grey hue.
• Shape: The Dorado has a streamlined body with a distinctively blunt head and a protruding forehead in males, which gives them the nickname "bulls." Females have a more rounded head.
• Size: Adult Dorados can grow up to 6.5 feet (2 meters) in length, though most caught are usually under 3 feet (1 meter). They can weigh anywhere between 15 to 30 pounds, with some exceptional specimens reaching up to 50 pounds or more.
